January: 2012 Chad Baker
This month we are happy to announce Coach Chad Baker as coach of the month for January!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition! The passion for basketball that Coach Chad possesses is exemplified at every practice and game. On numerous occasions, Coach Chad has picked up shifts on short notice and he is always on time to every shift.
These standout characteristics are those which all Koa coaches should strive towards! If you are ever unsure of what being a Koa coach means, please stop by and watch Coach Chad in action! Who is going to set it up and take it to the next level in February?
December: 2011 Mike Slade
This month we are happy to announce Coach Mike Slade as coach of the month of December!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition!
Having been with Koa, as both a parent and as a coach, for over a year, Coach Slade knows the ins and outs of the Koa program and is the ideal role model for other coaches to follow. He possesses all the characteristics we look for at Koa. Coach Slade continues to be a leader not only with the players of his numerous teams, but with the coaches as well.
Coach Slade's positive attitude, ability to tailor his knowledge as means to promote understanding by all age groups, and willingness to share his knowledge are all defining characteristics of an exceptional Koa coach!!
November: 2011 Stephen White
This month we are happy to announce Coach Stephen White as coach of the month of November!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition!
Having been with Koa for over a year, Coach White knows the ins and outs of the Koa program and is the ideal role model for other coaches to follow. He possesses all the characteristics we look for at Koa. As the flag football program at Koa continues to grow, Coach White continues to be a leader not only with the players, but with the coaches as well.
Coach White's positive attitude, ability to tailor his knowledge as means to promote understanding by all age groups, and willingness to share his knowledge are all defining characteristics of an exceptional Koa coach!!
October 2011: Drew Sommerville
This month we are happy to announce Coach Drew Sommerville as coach of the month of October!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback have landed him this recognition! Coach Drew's love for baseball along with the energy and leadership he carries onto the field while coaching the 14U West team, have made him an essential asset to the Koa baseball program!
But don't be fooled, Coach Drew isn't just a baseball coach. He is also a regular at several after school programs ranging from t-ball to street hockey. His ability to engage every kid in every program is an essential asset that all coaches should strive to obtain.
Having been with Koa for over a year, Coach Drew knows the ins and outs of the Koa program. As the baseball program at Koa continues to grows, Coach Drew continues to be a leader not only with the players, but with the coaches as well.

September 2011: Jeff Rodgers
This month we are happy to announce Coach Jeff Rodgers as coach of the month of September!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition! Coach Rodgers' love for baseball along with the energy and leadership he carries onto the field while coaching the 13U East team, have made him an essential asset to the Koa baseball program!
This past weekend, despite the cold and rainy conditions, Coach Rodgers lead the 13U East team to sweep their doubleheader. He was able to keep the kids focused and positive under the less than ideal conditions, winning one of the games by a walk off!
Having been with Koa since the beginning, Coach Rodgers knows the ins and outs of the Koa program and is the ideal role model for other coaches to follow. He possesses all the characteristics we look for at Koa. As the baseball program at Koa continues to grows, Coach Rodgers continues to be a leader not only with the players, but with the coaches as well.

July 2011: Ryan Vaskov
This month we are pleased to announce Ryan Vaskov as Coach of the Month for July. Ryan went above and beyond his coaching responsibilities at camp for the two weeks that he worked. His positive attitude and energetic personality captured the campers attention immediately. Ryan's willingness to help the other coaches in any way that he could, is one of the many factors that contributed to him being rewarded as coach of the month. Great job, Ryan!
May 2011: Mike Evans
This month we are happy to announce Coach Mike Evans as coach of the month!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition! Last month, Coach Mike's 10U travel baseball team was victorious in the first ever Koa Classic and were named the champion of their division! Coach Mike's love for baseball, as well as every other sport, and willingness to work will all levels of athletes are characteristics that all Koa coaches should strive towards!! Whether it is on the baseball diamond or at an after school program, he is always an exemplary coach and fulfills the true meaning of P.E.P.! March 2011: Kate Gannon
We are happy to announce Coach Kate Gannon as coach of the month for March!! Her positive attitude, commitment to the girls, and ability to constructively communicate with the Koa staff have all contributed to both the growth of the Koa Field Hockey Program, as well as earning Coach Kate this recognition!! Coach Kate's love for field hockey was brilliantly displayed each and every week at the Koa Field Hockey Winter Clinic, most notably through her ability to create a welcoming learning environment, encouraging even the shyest girls to breakout of their shells and embrace field hockey!!
Coach Kate's ability to work passionately with all age groups and actively transition between groups within the same clinic is made possible through her ability to modify her personal knowledge into terms that will be most easily understood by her targeted age group!! Coach Kate's positive attitude, ability to tailor her knowledge as means to promote understanding by all age groups, and willingness to share her knowledge are all defining characteristics of an exceptional Koa coach!!
February 2011: Tim Speros
This month we are happy to announce Coach Tim Speros as coach of the month!! His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from the parents have landed him this recognition! Coach Tim's love for basketball was brilliantly displayed both at practice and on game days throughout the Spartan Basketball season!! Coach Tim's consistency, reliability and positive coaching model are characteristics that all Koa coaches should strive towards!!

His positive attitude, commitment to the kids, and consistent positive feedback from parents have landed him this recognition! Last month, Coach E's 7th grade Rising Star Hoops team went 4-1!! Coach E's love for the sport and willingness to work will all levels of athletes are characteristics that all Koa coaches should strive towards!! - Fun, fun, fun. We want fun, high energy coaches. If you’re the kind of person who pretty much bounces off the walls, then you’re perfect!
- Reliability … we know, it sounds
basic, right? But we need coaches
who are very, very reliable.
