Meet Our Advisory Board

Brian Mitchell
Former Washington Redskin
Brian Mitchell

If you’re a football fan, you know Brian Mitchell! The NFL’s second all time leader in total yardage (23,330), Brian played for the Washington Redskins (1990-1999), the Philadelphia Eagles (2000-2002), and the New York Giants (2003). Brian holds multiple NFL records, and is only one of four players to record four seasons of over 2000 total yards (he missed out on a fifth by only 5 yards!).

When he’s not on the radio or television, Brian is spending time working on his foundation, The Brian Mitchell Foundation. The foundation is committed to making a difference in the lives of children and adults, and functions under the age old coaches’ axiom that “passion drives excellence.”

It is a privilege to have Brian serve on the Advisory Board for Koa Sports, and we appreciate his commitment to the children.

Buddy Biancalana
Former Royals and Astros MLB Player
Co-Founder, Perfect Mind Perfect Motion
Buddy Biancalana

Buddy Biancalana brings to our Advisory Board (for 2009 and 2010) a truly unique perspective on baseball. Buddy played for the Kansas City Royals (1982-1987) and the Houston Astros (1987). He played shortstop for the Royals team that won the World Series in 1985. Now, Buddy has his own company called PMPM Sports-Zone Training where he helps train athletes in all disciplines. Perhaps George Brett, a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame put it best when he said that he believes Buddy has “discovered something in sports that is going to have a huge impact wherever it is taught.” Buddy and his staff have worked with a plethora of professional athletes – Daryl Jones, the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Player of the Year; and professional golfer Lee Janzen, just to name a few. Buddy also offers his services to young adult athletes. More information about Buddy’s program can be found at www.pmpmsports.com.

As Tony Korson, the CEO and founder of Koa Sports says, “I’ve seen Buddy’s work up close. He took one of my high school players and completely turned him around. The athlete had great mechanics, but Buddy worked magic by freeing his mind. What a difference it made!”

We are honored to have Buddy serve on our Advisory Board. Buddy helps shape our training strategies, and truly provides a unique perspective.

Lisa Feingold-Smith
Health Education Masters
Physical Education Instructor

Lisa is a veteran educator with over 20 years teaching physical education, and we are pleased to have her serve on our Advisory Board (for 2009-2010).

After graduating from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1987, Lisa obtained a Masters of Health Education from Hofstra University. And, she topped that with a post-graduate Advanced Certificate from the Educational Leadership and Administration Department of Long Island University C.W. Post campus. Lisa has taken the meaning of “gym teacher” to an entirely new level!

Lisa’s perspective as a long-time educator adds another vital dimension to the Koa Advisory Board. When helping us develop programs, Lisa’s insight is critical to keeping the balance between athletic education and “fun.” She has a unique perspective on youth athletics, and her experience is unparalleled.

When Lisa isn’t on the field or in the gym, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her son, and their cat, Peanut.
