Koa Sports offers leading instruction in youth basketball, grades K-12.  We offer clinics, league play, private instruction, and team coaching.  Did you know that several of our coaches are former NCAA and professional athletes?  One of our coaches was an assistant for the New Jersey Nets!  Click here to meet our basketball staff.

At Koa, we teach our athletes about all aspects of the game.  On the physical side, we place a high premium on skills, drills, and scrimmages.  Whether it’s improving a jump shot, or learning proper techniques for a man-to-man defense, our coaches have played at the collegiate and professional levels, and understand what it takes to be successful.  On the mental side, we believe that our athletes need to understand different offenses and defenses.  As part of every practice, we spend time doing a “chalk talk” about different offenses and defenses – from the double post motion, to stunting. 

When considering different basketball programs for your athlete, don’t forget that it takes the best to teach the best!

K & 1st Co-Ed Hoops/Skills, Drills & Scrimmage
PRACTICE PLAN

Ages: K-1st Grade Co-Ed
Location: Potomac United Methodist Church Gym

Dates: Saturdays (12/17, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/11 - No Class 2/4) - Make Up 2/18
New Time: 10:00-11:00am
Cost: $150 (includes a t-shirt)

Program: Even the littlest hoopsters can get in on the game at Koa. Our 6 week K-1 coed program is designed to introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals and FUN of basketball. We use adjustable hoops, exciting drills, and plenty of scrimmage time. Our awesome coaches know just the right approach for this age group and everyone has fun! We meet once a week and this is a drop-off program but parents are always welcome to stay and watch. Players should wear sneakers and bring plenty of water to drink.

2nd Grade Co-Ed Hoops/Skills, Drills & Scrimmage

Program: A step up from our K-1 program, we continue work with boys and girls on the fundamentals of basketball in our 6 week program, but keep it FUN!!! Adjustable hoops, exciting drills, and plenty of scrimmage time are all part of each session. Our awesome coaches (check out our staff!!) are experienced with this age group and our 6:1 player to coach ratio guarantees individual attention!! We're offering free basketball clinics to let your kids get a taste of the sport.  Please join our coaches on Saturday, December 3rd for a morning of hoops and plenty of FUN!  Meet the Koa coaches and learn all about our beginning basketball program at our Hoops Promo Day!! 

After the free clinic, online registration will be open for our K-1st and 2nd Grade 6 week hoops program (December 17th – March 6th)
