Camp FAQ’s

Q: How do I register for a Koa Summer Camp?
A:
Registration is easy and online -- simply click here to register or go to www.KoaSports.org and and at Quick Links select "Register for Koa Program" and follow the prompts.

Q: What is your Summer 2012 camp refund policy?
A:
Should you need to cancel your camp registration we can give you a 100% refund up to May 1, 2012. After May 1st, we will give you credit towards another Koa program. You must use your camp credit within 1 year of the issue date. Contact Mindi for assistance.

Q: What does my camper need to bring each day?
A
: Camper’s should bring a bag lunch and snack each day. We will provide water, but campers may want to bring water bottles to refill throughout the day. Sunscreen and hats are strongly recommended. Campers should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers -- no sandals or flip flops. Bug spray is optional.

Q: Does my camper need to bring any special equipment?
A: Koa provides the all the sports equipment for our camps, but a camper is always welcome to bring in his or her own. For the Elite Baseball Camp, athletes should bring in their own bats, gloves and helmets. We strongly recommend flag football campers bring mouthguards.

Q: What should my camper NOT bring to camp?
A: Please leave expensive electronic devices at home (ie. MP3 players, tablets, hand held game devices, cell phones). Campers will not be allowed to use them during the camp day. These devices have a way of getting lost or broken and Koa cannot take responsiblity for their loss or damage, nor does our insurance cover their replacement. Campers should not bring any money to camp.

Q: What if my camper is younger (or older for his grade)?
A:
For the most part we determine placement based on the child's grade in school for the 2011-12 school year. However, we will work with you to ensure you have the best placement for your camper. Contact our Parent Relations Director, Mindi Susskind (mindi@KoaSports.org) with any questions or concerns.

Q: Who will be the camp coaches and instructors?
A: Koa's experienced coaches and instructors will staff our summer camps. The majority of our coaches are collegiate athletes with and they have plenty of experience coaching kids. Many of the campers will recognize much of the staff from other Koa programs during the year.

Q: What activities will you have in inclement weather?
A
: Koa is prepared for every weather scenario, whether it’s rain, lightening or poor air quality days. We have indoor movies, bingo, charades, and a counselor play – just to name a few of our indoor activities!
