Eric Scretchen is a young aspiring Sports Trainer and Coach. As a 7th grader Eric started playing basketball and at that time he realized that basketball was the sport of his dream. Eric played recreational (rec) basketball and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball during his middle school years.
Once Eric got to high school he continued playing AAU as well as high school basketball. He averaged 15 points per game while playing AAU and for his high school team. During his junior year of high school, Coach Eric suffered a knee injury which put his dreams of playing at the next level on hold.
He really wanted to play in college but decided to re-channel his dream and instead of playing basketball he would help kids to obtain basketball and other sports skills. He attended Garrett College and majored in Adventure Sports Management only to find out that he wasn’t interested in that major and now he’s going on a different path.
Coach Eric is excited to be back in the sport he loves as prepares our Koa kids with the knowledge and skills to reach their full potential.
