Orlando Del Hoyo is joining Koa in 2017 with nearly 10 years of coaching experience under his belt. Orlando got his start a year after graduating high school when he became a volunteer statistician/assistant for a club team. He continued getting into the coaching game by volunteering in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off being the team host for West Virginia University, Colorado, North Carolina State and VCU in a span of 5 years, as well as two FIBA tournaments working with Puerto Rico and Canada. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Puerto Rico-Aguadilla, where he worked as an assistant for the men’s basketball team. His experience also includes Carib Christian School, Moca Basketball Program, and the Indios de Mayagüez youth categories. After moving to Georgia from Puerto Rico in 2015, he became Head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Atlanta International School for two years. Excited about the opportunity of being part of Koa Sports, he hopes these past experiences continue to help build the basketball program.
