Koa Sports is a non-profit organization that has been up and running for seven years and we have coached more than 8,000 athletes. Prior to starting Koa Sports, Tony Korson coached a neighborhood baseball team because of his passion and love for the sport- and because he saw a need for his community’s youth to have the opportunity for sports to be a positive impact in their lives.

Koa’s mission is Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports.

In addition to some of the best coaches and staff members, Koa Sports opened a brand new, state-of-the-art, indoor training facility at the beginning of 2017. The facility has two batting cages complete with turf pitching lanes, a full-sized basketball court with two additional training hopps, sport-court for indoor field hockey games, and more. The batting cages, training turf, basketball court and training hoops are used for leagues, clinics and practices, as well as private lessons with our highly-trained staff of professional coaches. Tony Korson’s passion for providing baseball lessons Rockville MD neighborhood kids needed, has expanded into a multi-faceted, multi-sports facility that the Maryland community is thankful for.

Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports

Our staff and coaches eat, sleep and breathe sports. Some of the top ways we believe that Koa Sports operational approach and standards are truly shaping young people’s lives include:

# Friendships: Teams are a great way for kids to meet other kids who are close in age and have at least one common interest albeit likely they have many more than the sport they are playing.

Mastery: Winning isn’t everything but working hard is. Skills training, early morning practices, conditioning, and becoming a student of the game are steps that should be taken towards mastering your craft.

Failure: Mistakes can be the best time for teachable moments, learning and meaningful improvement. Failure should inspire athletes to work harder, strive for mastery, and enhance their competitive spirit.

Fair Playing Time: Playing time is earned, not given. Our coaches behave in accordance to four core beliefs: be positive, dedicated, team-first and fun. Coaches adhere to playing time policies from Koa management and will not favor players based on parent influence and/or compensation.

The Process: Navigating the world of youth sports can be tiring, stressful, and downright confusing- which is why Koa Sports is here for you and your family. We provide parents and kids with a plan and are there to guide and answer questions throughout.

At Koa Sports we believe in our operational approach and organizational standards- and we know that our families are proud of the positive growth their kids have made with the help of our programs. Our mission of Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports and baseball lessons Rockville kids can’t get enough of, is something that the Koa Sports team of staff and coaches is proud to be fostering in the adults of tomorrow.
