Koa FH Hires Rec League and Clinic Coordinator

  Blog # 19.14

Jen Spagnuolo

Hi Koa! My name is Jen Spagnuolo and I am the new Rec League and Clinic Coordinator. I am extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity to become a part of the Koa Community and to share my love of field hockey.
To introduce myself; I recently moved down to Maryland from New Hyde Park, New York; a town on Long Island. Growing up on Long Island, I was fortunate enough to have the best bagels and pizza!
From the moment I picked up a field hockey stick, I knew I wasn’t going to ever put it down. I started playing field hockey in 7th grade and was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play collegiately at Hartwick College. I was a 3-year Captain and Team MVP. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with minors in Economics and Marketing. This past December, I graduated from Adelphi University with a Master of Science degree in Sport Management.
I am optimistic in being able to share my experiences, knowledge, and passion for field hockey with all of you. I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

– the ball is intentionally played over the back-line by a defenderHow they are taken:
– time and play is stopped after a penalty corner is awarded and restarted when teams are ready
– the ball is placed on the back-line inside the circle at least 10 meters from the goal-post
– an attacker pushes or hits the ball without intentionally raising it. they must have at least one foot outside the field
d. the other attackers must be outside the circle
– no more than 5 defenders, including the goalie, can be positioned behind the back-line
– the other defenders must be beyond the half line
– until the ball is played, no attacker or defender other than the attacker hitting the ball is permitted to enter the circle
– after hitting the ball, the attacker that took the hit must not play the ball again until the ball has been played by another player
– a goal cannot be scored until the ball has traveled outside the circle
