mookie

Coach Mookie was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and has been a Maryland resident since the age of 5.  A graduate of Richard Montgomery High School class of 2002, he was starting shooting guard for the rockets beginning in his sophomore year, making him a 3-time varsity basketball letterman.  In coach Mookie’s senior season he was Montgomery County’s top 3-point shooter and number 3 in the state of Maryland, he received Honorable Mention All-Met and All-County honors, first team All-League 4A for Montgomery County, and was voted team MVP.  Mookie was also the only member from the Richard Montgomery class of 2002 selected to the Montgomery County All-Star team as shooting guard.  Coach Mookie also played for a competitive AAU team which won the Maryland State 17u Tournament to earn a spot in Orlando’s famed National AAU Tournament held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.  While Mookie’s playing days are behind him, his mission now is to use his knowledge and experience to educate, empower, and inspire kids to reach their full potential on and off the court.
